So You Need a Photography Beginner’s Guide?

If you have been using a film camera for years, then you probably think that digital photography is not all that different. After all, the only difference is that you are shooting electronically, rather than on film, right? Well, there is a lot more to your new camera than just a change in the media and without a good digital photography beginner’s guide to help you, you could end up wasting a whole lot of time taking bad shots.

Finding a digital photography  beginner’s guide in your local bookstore or library may be helpful, but in most cases, much of the information that you get from one will be out of date. Because technology in the digital photography world changes so quickly, it is likely that although you may get some basic information about photography in these books, they will be unable to help you with specific issues that you may have with your camera.

The best place to find a digital photography beginner’s guide is obviously online. This is primarily because the information is constantly updated as technology changes, and because you can talk to other people just like you, who are interested in digital photography. Whatever specific information you don’t find from an online book can certainly be found from an online forum, and you will also have the opportunity to share some of your work.

Digital photography is in many ways different from traditional film camera, both in what you do with the camera and how you treat your photographs afterwards. You can do a certain amount of manipulation on the camera, but once you download your photos to your computer, you can continue to alter your work. It is a fantastic hobby and one that can even turn into a full-time job if you become good enough.
